Training on Digital Literacies

“Innovating the Market Mindset” - U2SID workshop at the

“Fan S. Noli” University of Korça

The main goal of the workshop was to incorporate digital literacy tactics into the core objectives of “Fan S. Noli” University thereby facilitating the modernization of study programs across all levels and fostering connections with stakeholders, including the economy, politics, business, and civil society. The “INNOVATING THE MARKET MINDSET” – U2SID Workshop served as an essential element of the education and training process, involving lecturers and students all guided by the U2SID Digital Accelerator Program.

First, Prof. as. dr. Benita Stavre, Deputy/Rector in charge of Research and Project of UNIKO greeted the participants by pointing out the aims of the project and its main highlights.

• Dr. Dorela Kaçauni – Lecturer at UNIKO presented the analysis of the surveys “Digital Literacy Knowledge and Needs for Lecturers and Students at UNIKO”

Trainers who took part in the workshop are as follow:

• Realb Kushe, Department of ICT: “Core Technologies and Concepts of Web Development”, discussed the core technologies and concepts of web development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. Participants learned to build dynamic and interactive websites and web applications.

• Dr. Blerina Çeliku, Department of ICT: “Digital Tools and Artificial Intelligence”, presented some digital tools (Canva, PowerPoint, Figma, ilovePDF, Google practices & ads) and Artificial Intelligence as an integrated part of our lives, since there are a lot of AI tools that can be utilized and incorporated in education, industry and business.

On the second day, the focus shifted to Master students, other alumni and stakeholders addressing their interests in “The Internet of Things (IoT)”, which represents a network wherein various devices and technologies seamlessly communicate, eliminating the need for direct human involvement.

Participants were introduced to concepts, goals, and frameworks to key aspects and KPIs of IoT and related technology solutions and services such as Big Data and some use cases for the smart sustainable city (SSC).

• Prof. as. dr. Mamica Nene, Department of Tourism and Marketing presented the topic “The University a Catalysator of the Digital Marketing Development: Its Social Impact”. She explored how universities play a pivotal role in advancing digital marketing practices and technologies, subsequently influencing society.

• Dr. Landi Gushi, Department of Tourism and Marketing, introduced the topic “The Importance of Search Engine Optimization in the digital world”. He highlighted the importance of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in the digital world because it enhances a website's visibility and drives organic traffic by improving its ranking in search engine results.

• Marijon Pano, Department of ICT, presented the topic “The Internet of Things (IoT)”. He referred to the network of interconnected devices, objects, and systems that communicate and exchange data over the internet without human intervention. These devices are embedded with sensors, software, and connectivity features that enable them to collect and transmit data.
