Report on workshops at Montenegro 25-26 April 2024
The U2SID project supports the development and adoption of digital skills in order to make the digital transformation as comprehensive and inclusive as possible.
One on the aims of Work Package 2 - Program for accelerating digital literacy is raising the level of digital competences of students and staff of the University of Montenegro. For this purpose, two full-day workshops were held at the Faculty of Philosophy in Nikšić on April 25 and 26, 2024. The beginning of the workshop was welcomed by the dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, prof. Dr. Tatjana Novović. During the first workshop Active training on digital literacy for students, which also attracted high school students, the participants learned about the history of the development of Artificial Intelligence and language models, the best practices for generating text and images, and had the opportunity to practically practice the basics of creating a website .
The second workshop, Collaborative training with lecturers and professionals from civil society, business and politics for digital literacy, was dedicated to the teaching staff of the University of Montenegro and stakeholders. During this workshop, participants were introduced to AI tools for research and creation of educational content, best practices for text generation and data analysis, as well as basic concepts of Word Press. Both, teaching stuff and students had the right to attend both workshops.
The workshops were attended by colleagues from the University of Shkodra and Tirana, as well as project coordinator Brikene Dionizi, who had a meeting with a dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, prof. Ph.D. Tatjana Novović.
The lecturers at the workshops, led by Assoc. Nataša Krivokapić, Ph.D., were Modrag Vujković, member of the Montenegrin Association for Artificial Intelligence and co-owner of a startup that uses generative artificial intelligence in its product, Dalibor Vukotić, IT administrator at the Faculty of Philology and Željko Lučić, M.Sc., manager of the business incubator at the Technopolis Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center.
